Megan McDermott
Actress
Megan is an actress and playwright with a passion for period pieces and heightened text, especially those that center women in the narrative.
She has performed on many stages Regionally and Off-Broadway, including the Tony Award winning Wilma Theater.
A style chameleon, she specializes in combining the visceral and the poetic; think Tennessee Williams, Oscar Wilde, and Ken Ludwig, but Lauren Gunderson, Kate Hamill, and Sarah Ruhl are hosting the party!
She brings a playful spirit, open heart, and sense of humor to each project; and values curiosity, compassion, and collaboration.
Her plays Stella for Star, Composing Clara, and Lady Leticia’s Boudoir are available on New Play Exchange. Stella for Star was given its first workshop and public performance in 2022 as part of the Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival, with Megan starring in the title role of Stella.

In 1926 Agatha Christie vanished, then reappeared eleven days later without explanation. It was a tabloid sensation—a mystery that, nearly a century later, remains unsolved. Fast forward to today: More than a little lost herself, a Christie aficionado named Lucy makes the pilgrimage to the author’s estate. When she happens upon an unpublished diary written in Christie’s own hand, Lucy resolves to crack the case once and for all. In parallel storylines that blend past, present, and Poirot, Mrs. Christie proves that sometimes you need to disappear in order to find yourself.
